1. Preparation:
Inspect Liners: Check the foam seal liners for any defects or damage before use. Ensure that the liners are the correct size and type for your containers and caps.
Clean Containers: Ensure that the container rims are clean and free of dust, debris, or residues. A clean surface ensures better adhesion of the foam seal liner.
2. Placement:
Position the Liner: Place the pressure-sensitive foam seal liner inside the cap. The adhesive side of the liner should face the container’s opening. Ensure that the liner is centered and properly aligned with the cap.
Avoid Wrinkles: Smooth out any wrinkles or air bubbles in the liner to ensure a uniform seal. Proper placement is crucial for achieving a secure and effective seal.
3. Applying the Cap:
Seal the Container: Screw or press the cap onto the container, applying consistent pressure to ensure that the foam seal liner makes full contact with the container rim. The pressure-sensitive adhesive will bond the liner to the container’s surface.
Check Alignment: Verify that the cap is aligned correctly and that the liner is properly positioned to form a complete seal around the container’s opening.
4. Ensuring Proper Adhesion:
Apply Even Pressure: Ensure that the cap is tightened or pressed evenly to provide uniform pressure across the entire liner. This helps achieve a consistent seal and prevents leaks.
Allow Adhesive to Set: Depending on the adhesive used, you may need to allow some time for the adhesive to fully bond. Follow any specific manufacturer recommendations regarding curing or setting times.
5. Inspecting the Seal:
Check Seal Integrity: After applying the cap, inspect the seal to ensure it is secure and that there are no gaps or leaks. A properly applied foam seal liner should create a tight, tamper-evident seal.
Test for Leaks: If applicable, test the container to ensure there are no leaks or issues with the seal. This step is particularly important for liquid or semi-liquid products.
6. Handling and Storage:
Store Properly: Store unused foam seal liners in a clean, dry environment to maintain their adhesive properties and prevent contamination.
Avoid Extreme Conditions: Keep the liners away from extreme temperatures and humidity, as these conditions can affect the performance of the adhesive.
